"Curtin want me to apply for a job at Microsoft", Daniel said trying to gauge a reaction from Leila.
"That's awesome babe, you should totally do it!", Leila replied excitedly.
"But if I get it that means we have to move to America", Daniel explained.
"Awesome", Leila exclaimed.
So Daniel sent in his application.
He received a reply.
He answered some more questions.
He received another reply.
He answered some more questions.
We want to talk to you, they said. OMG we said.
Daniel covered the bed in notes. So very very nervous, not even believing that he had come this far.
"You can do this babe, I know you can", Leila encouraged.
He spoke to them. And then he spoke to them again.
Come to Sydney they said. We want to meet you.
He went to Sydney, he went to the interviews. He felt good, no he felt great.
Some time passed by.
Then one morning, just like the many other mornings Daniel got up and checked his emails for an answer, there it was. The answer he had been waiting for for what seemed like an eternity.
Congratulations, we'd like you to come work for Microsoft.
"I got it", Daniel said in shock.
"OMG, really?!", Leila said in even more shock.
They just stared at each other in disbelief.
They both slowly stated the obvious.
We.
Are.
Moving.
To.
America
Daniel & Leila laughed and cried. They couldn't belive it. They felt like they had won lotto.
They had no idea how much their lives were about to change.
And move to America they did.

Moving overseas completely changed my life. For the better.
I try to imagine what I'd be doing if I didn't come here and I really can't say. Most probably I would be finishing up a degree in a profession I didn't want to work in. Daniel would probably be applying for jobs over East, if he hadn't already got one. All I know is I don't think we'd be as happy as we are now.
That's not to say we would be sad, I'm sure we'd be very happy, however we wouldn't know how happy we could be.
I'm a much happier person within myself. Moving here forced me to take a look at myself and deal with a lot of the baggage that I'd been constantly metophorically running from. I've had to face some unique issues such as homesickness and learning how to cope with it. This in itself has made me a stronger person. I've become a more confident person when it comes to talking to strangers, you have to be, how else are you going to make friends? I guess in general I just found "me".
Sharing such a significant life change has brought Daniel & I closer together. We are the only two people that know what the each of us is going through and truly understands. We have bonded more in the last two years than we ever have in our whole relationship. Moving overseas is amazingly stressful on a relationship, I know a lot of couples that make the move OS and don't make it. We are lucky, so very lucky.
It's been an amazing journey to here. I wouldn't change a single thing.

New York New York!
I had such a wonderful time in New York. It was mine & Daniel's first vacation away just the two of us.
The night before we left New York had a lot of snow. When we arrived the place was all white & pretty because of all of the snow.
While we were there we saw the Museum of Natural History, Times Square, the "Friends" building, Chinatown (on Chinese New Year!), the Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge, Madison Square Garden & Grand Central Station.
I took so many photos!! Every street we turned had amazing photo's to be taken.
My favourite place was snuggling in the King sized bed with my wonderful husband, watching TV and not having a care in the world.
